an unexcused absence . . .

I have been away from the computer - heavens, away from the office, for that matter. I have been "Habitating" at the Dunn house.
So - what progress have you made, O digger of dirt and builder of fences???
Well, the dog pens are complete. Including roof. Crockett and Amy couldn't be happier. BTW - we have been letting them "play" together in the yard, and Amy continues to be a holy attack terror. Crockett put up with it for quite a while, but then she tried to steal his bone, and he let her have it. I got to them about the time he was going back in for the kill. I think I'll have to let them play separate until she's a little bigger . . .
The placement of the dog pens requiried that I move the gate to the garden - so I sunk two new posts, and reattached the fence. Makes for a nice look, I think.
The pool is repaired. We had a collapsed return line, so a hole had to be dug under the concrete to the side wall of the pool. We took out the slide, and then we decided to move the Polaris to the side wall as well, so another hole had to be dug under the concrete. Those repairs have been completed, and the holes have been filled in.
The sprinkler system is up and running, as of yesterday afternoon. What a difference - no more schlepping of hoses for Doc Dunn. Bryan even installed a pipe to the garden, complete with two faucets, and so now I can water the dogs with well water using the sprinkler system. Pretty cool.
And on the 4th, Travis and I sunk 7 posts along the east fence to "shore things up." He was actually quite helpful. He manned the wheelbarrow, loaded the 40 lb. sacks of Quickcrete into the wheelbarrow, brought it around to the back fence, opened the sacks with a shovel, and then began adding water. He would control the wheelbarrow while I fed the concrete into the hole - it was quite a blast. He slept well that night . . .
There are a few projects left, and we'll keep at it until things look better. But all in all, things are starting to shape up.

Thanks for your patience during my absence from the keyboard . . .

I'm glad things are starting to return to "normal" at your house!
